Hotel Monastery

We'd gladly come back. The breakfast was varied and high quality, and the place has a real sense of history and character. Set within the monastery walls, it has high ceilings and a lovely mix of space, comfort, and atmosphere. It was spotless and so peaceful. Special thanks to the manager and the waitress Oksana. They and the rest of the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional.

The first-floor rooms are gorgeous, with fabulous views. The loft rooms are darker and more basic, and getting to the raised sleeping area means tackling lots of steep stairs, so I'd avoid those. We had a lovely, quiet and comfortable stay in this old hotel. Breakfasts were great, and the staff were helpful. Alice even arranged an emergency dental appointment for my partner. It's a lovely walk or an easy tram ride into town.

The room was clean and spacious, and the bed very comfortable. There's no elevator, just an FYI. The place is quiet, far enough from the chaos, but the 22 tram is only a few yards away and goes to Old Town. It's uphill from New Town, and the walk home is perfect if you like walking off beer and dinner. Best of all, Maly Buddah is less than a 30-second walk away, and it was the best food we had in Europe. The first photo is the view from my tiny room window. Breakfast was superb. Everyone was helpful and the service excellent, especially Stephan.

Reception isn't staffed after 7 pm, so a later flight means you won't be able to check in. Apart from that, I loved this place. It's a historic building with lovely garden views, quiet surroundings, and great facilities. The staff were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was simple but had variety. Looking forward to coming back in summer.
