Motel One Prague-Florentinum

The location is excellent, and the lobby and check-in area look good. The staff were very nice whenever we spoke with them, and the lobby drinks were good and fairly priced. But for what the stay costs, the rooms and room service really let it down. The rooms are clean but outdated and bare, with no fridge or regular chair. There was just a small table, an ottoman chair, another ottoman, and the bed. The TV seemed small for the room and a bit dated. The bed was okay, but the pillows left some of my companions waking up with neck problems. Breakfast costs extra, as it generally does at Motel One, and it's continental, European, or German style, with no hot options like omelets. It has organic and fair-trade products. If you like that sort of breakfast and eat quite a bit, I think it's nice and good value. Room service can be daily if you want it, but they don't refill the soap. The body wash and shampoo 2-in-1 was only a third full, and when I left it outside the shower, they just moved it rather than topping it up. The half-covered shower also had me watching for bathroom floods, and the towels hung in there got soaked if you weren't careful. The exhaust fan did little while showering, then took ages to clear the steam. The mirrors fogged up, and when someone else used the toilet, some companions resorted to air freshener. I couldn't tell whether the air conditioning was on the central system. The wall panel only let you switch it on and move from max to min, whatever that means. There's no parking garage either, which is sadly pretty normal for Motel One. I can't recommend it for the price. You can find better options a bit farther from downtown Prague and travel in by tram or metro.
