NH Prague City

Our group was affected by the break-in mentioned in another recent review, and I can confirm it happened and was extremely serious. Someone forced their way into a hotel room during our stay and stole wallets, bank cards, cash, IDs, and other valuables. This was a major violation of privacy and personal safety, not a minor inconvenience. The hotel’s response left us feeling dismissed and unsupported. Its public reply suggested guests should have used the safe, but nobody warned us at check-in or during the stay about security risks or told us to store everything there. We paid for what should have been a secure hotel, not a place where people fear someone will force entry into their room. The hotel disputes claims of similar incidents, though police attendance at the property made this seem less than isolated. Despite saying it would “rectify” the situation, the hotel has offered those affected no actual compensation or meaningful resolution. A polite response online doesn’t change what happened. Hotels should provide reasonable security. We insure and protect our own homes, but guests shouldn’t have to worry about a forceful break-in while paying to stay somewhere. The experience left us shaken and deeply uncomfortable. People should know before booking. Think twice before staying here.

For a few days, the room itself was fine. Daily cleaning was well done, and I liked the barista station at the breakfast buffet. The hotel is connected by highway, tram, bus, and metro. The Wi-Fi was the problem. More than one call or visit to the front desk got the same answer, that it should be working fine and they’d ask the engineers to reset it. It didn’t matter whether it was morning, evening, or after some check-out. If you want a place to unplug, this would be a five star review. They should either stop listing Wi-Fi as an amenity or upgrade the network. I don’t remember dial-up being this bad. Leave your laptop at home or plan on using your own data as a hotspot.

The breakfast was amazing, and the cable car up to the rooftop bar was a real treat. The tennis courts and spa facilities were great as well. NH Prague City is very affordable, and the staff were helpful and keen to sort out any problems. Petr Spacek was especially attentive with all my questions and resolved things quickly. I only ran into a few technical issues in the room and noticed a piece of lobby flooring coming loose.

The small cable car linking the two parts of NH Hotel Prague City is a handy, unusual feature and the highlight for me. It’s a nice hotel with good service, food, and drinks. The city center is around 3 km away and walkable, and the nearby tram and metro stations make getting there quick and easy.
