Royal Court Apartments

Reception staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. We had a lovely two-night stay in a clean, spacious room with a small kitchen area. It was about a 10-minute walk to Wenlass Square and 20 minutes to Old Town. The room faced the street, which could get noisy, and that was the only downside. I'd recommend it.

We spent three hours trying to get help just to enter the hotel and collect our room key. There's no reception, only a kiosk where you enter a code, and we hadn't been given one to get into the building. Another family eventually came and let us in. We also lacked the code for our room key. We tried the call button and phoned the helpline, but the man said he couldn't come down to help and hung up. Love holidays, who we booked through, also struggled to get assistance. At midnight an email finally arrived with the necessary codes. They also charge for extra towels.

We could easily have stayed for a month in this apartment. It was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and had all the essentials to feel like home. The location was hard to beat, right beside metro and tram stops, with the city center an easy walk away and coffee shops and supermarkets nearby. The women at the front desk were so kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. We loved our stay and highly recommend it.

We were grateful for the free upgrade. The apartment was large, modern, beautifully decorated, and incredibly warm. There's a lift, and the kitchen was comfortable and well equipped, with coffee mugs. Sasha was great at check-in, though spoke very quickly and it was hard to take in all the information. The shower had great pressure and heat, but the gel was difficult to get out, so bring your own. The towels were hard rather than fluffy, and changing them during the stay costs €5, which is a good environmental idea. The tub had no plug, so my partner couldn't take a bath, and it's high to step into with no handles, awkward for anyone with mobility issues. The main problem was the bedroom Futon. It was low and hard to get out of, and my partner struggled enough to sleep on the sofa/daybed in the sitting room. I liked the firm mattress, but it's not suitable for older guests. Its sharp corners kept banging my calf and shin, and there were no bedside tables. The street is noisy, though the flat is very central to New Town and the trams were brilliant. The windows are double glazed. Our taxi took us to their hotel with the same name, so we had to walk one or two streets to the apartments. A keycard cover showing just the apartment address would help, instead of three addresses. Coffee Factory next door was our favourite Prague cafe, with a discount for apartment guests and fantastic food. We'd stay again if they changed the bed.
