Safestay Prague Charles Bridge

Inside, the hostel always felt warm and welcoming, even with the cold weather outside. We had a small checkout mix-up, which reception sorted out quickly and professionally. Aderemi and the rest of the team, including housekeeping, were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Truly Safestay!

The staff were friendly, and they found me a bed for one night even though I’d accidentally booked a female dorm for two nights. I lost the second night because the rooms were full, but I understood the situation. Good service overall.

It's spotless and in a great spot, but the noise outside the rooms at 8 am was a problem. Housekeeping were chatting loudly and vacuuming then. I was also surprised there were no individual lights by the dorm beds, since the other Safestay hostels I’ve visited had them. The 60 Kč water at reception felt very overpriced, and a sign telling people to push hard on the front door would help. It’s really difficult to open.

My bags were stolen from a private room, and I’ve lost almost 1500 euros’ worth of things. I’m at a police station now. I strongly suspect staff may have been involved, though I can’t prove that. The staff have been rude and arrogant, as if letting me stay were a favor. They told me to keep my luggage in the room locker, but it wasn’t spacious, and even the police found the lockers jammed. Two doors were compromised: the hostel has one entrance with an electronic keycard, someone got past the receptionist, and then opened our room door. The CCTV is in terrible condition. The only thing visible is a man-like figure in a red hood. So Safestay’s explanation is that this person got through both entrances, passed the receptionist, entered our room, took our things in a very odd position, passed reception again, then vanished into thin air. Apparently he was a ghost, since he had no keycard. Bravissimo. Stupidest thing ever!!!!
