The owners were kind and took time to explain the public transport route into central Prague and how to buy tickets. The camp itself is a clean, simple little place, with clean toilets and showers. There’s a tram stop nearby that goes straight to the centre, and the zoo is close too. A nice basic base for visiting Prague.

This feels much more like a parking lot than a campsite. Caravans are packed together, often with no room to set out chairs or a table, and the whole place gets crowded and noisy. The washing machine area is disgusting.

Getting into the city was easy: the train station is only a few minutes’ walk away, and the ride takes around 20-30 minutes. We had a pitch at the back, a pleasant spot among trees and about as quiet as you can expect beside a main road. There’s also an Italian restaurant roughly five minutes away on foot, which we’d recommend. We didn’t try the campsite restaurant, though people were eating there whenever we passed. We stayed four nights and were very happy with it. It’s a small campground without much entertainment, but a lovely place to spend a few days in Prague. The staff are especially nice. The woman at reception was always ready to help, and we often saw her cleaning as she worked to keep the place tidy. The ladies’ bathroom is dated but was clean and perfectly adequate for a short stay. There are just two showers, but we never had to wait. The kitchen is old-fashioned too, though it has what you need, including a microwave, stove and coffee machine. There’s only one sink, so it can get busy, but dish soap and cleaning supplies are provided.

For a campground this close to the city, the price is among the more reasonable ones, even if other locations may be cheaper. I don’t get the complaints about the sanitary facilities, they’re like those at most campsites. The woman there is friendly and speaks enough English to help. 10/10. It’s also the only place I found that accepts bookings without at least 24 hours’ notice.
