The location is why I gave it two stars, but I’d seriously avoid this hotel. My friends and I booked an apartment and found it was really one large room, with one decent double bed and two very poor single beds. One of those had the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. The bathroom’s glass wall and door were completely see-through, which is a strange setup for an apartment. There’s no real sound insulation from outside, so the pubs downstairs and passing tourists make a lot of noise. Unless you’re going to bed after midnight, you’ll have to put up with it. Breakfast was pathetic, though technically “free.”

I prepaid for a queen-bed room, but the hotel couldn’t give me the room type confirmed in my reservation. They tried to call a twin room an “upgrade,” even though it wasn’t equivalent to what I’d booked. The receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful, kept saying the booking couldn’t be refunded, and made it impossible to have a reasonable conversation despite the hotel not providing the room I’d paid for. I was also very concerned about payment security. My full card number and expiry date were written on a paper registration form. When I asked for it back or to see the hotel’s policy for keeping that information, they refused. I had to cancel my card immediately afterward. Booking customer service tried to reach the property during the dispute, but the hotel didn’t cooperate. Booking eventually refunded me, and I had to arrange another hotel myself. This was a serious customer service and payment data security problem, not just a room issue. Avoid it.

My flight was at 9:00 am, and it was freezing outside. Even though I had a reservation, they turned me away because it wasn’t 2:00 yet. They wouldn’t even take my bags somewhere secure, so I had to go back out into the cold alone with all my luggage and find somewhere warm to wait for five hours.

We checked out the same day and booked another hotel. The room was extremely old and uncared for: there was only a mattress topper, no mattress, the carpet was stained brown, and the floor creaked. The receptionist had first been rude and unprofessional, and the whole experience felt like a scam. I’d already booked and paid online, but on arrival the receptionist tried to charge me $1000 cash as a deposit and $500 as a property tax. That raised an immediate red flag. When the receptionist changed, I explained what happened, but the new person dismissed my concerns and said the other woman was “deaf” and didn’t speak English. She had clearly communicated the amounts and how she wanted me to pay. Tourists who don’t speak the language should watch out for this. Don’t stay here.
