Pension U Starýho Dubu

This is a family-run guesthouse with excellent home cooking. We stayed for a week in a mezzanine room and were very happy with it. Breakfast had plenty of variety, with jams, crackling spread, sausages, eggs, homemade cake, fruit, vegetables, cereal, and pretty much anything you could think of. Dinner is optional, but it’s worth having. Mrs. Maříková makes soup and a main course, and the cooking really is five-star. Once you try it, I guarantee you’ll want it every day! If there’s a dish you don’t eat, just say so and they’ll find an alternative. The pool is heated, clean, and maintained every day. Just bear in mind this guesthouse is for families with children, so it definitely won’t be quiet. It’s a wooden building and the floors creak, but nothing disturbed us at night and we slept like logs. The one thing I’d consider adding to the mezzanine rooms is a small fridge and kettle. The restaurant doesn’t open until five, and making coffee during the day means walking about 30 meters to the shared nook for the kettle and microwave, filling it in the room, carrying it back to boil, then walking back again to pour the water. After that, you have to go down two flights of stairs to the games room to get milk from the shared fridge. A little fridge and kettle wouldn’t cost much and would make those rooms more comfortable. Even so, we’d gladly come back for another holiday. We liked it here a lot.

We’ve got plenty of tips for trips here and used most of them. This was our second visit to the guesthouse, and we’ll be happy to return again. We like peace, a family setting, and a homely atmosphere, and found all of that here, along with excellent food. So I don’t mind who serves the meals, ad lenca 001. The owners were accommodating about everything. Even though this is a difficult time for everyone, nothing was a problem, not even some of our neighbors’ extra special requests. We didn’t get to use the pool because of the weather, but the hardy guests did and looked pleased. Wishing you a peaceful summer and happy guests :)

We’re here again and it’s great. It’s a lovely place to relax, and great for cycling and hiking. Mařík, the owners, are very nice people. Highly recommend it. I don’t know what else to add.

At pension U starýho dubu, the Mařík family make you feel at home. The room was beautiful, the setting pleasant, and the scenery lovely. Thanks to their kindness and helpfulness, we had an amazing holiday. If you’re hungry, they cook really well, and there’s a good selection of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks, as well as quality coffee. They’ll also happily suggest great routes for walking, roller skating, driving, or cycling. They make classics like hermelín and utopenec themselves, so give them a try with your beer. Breakfast is a buffet every day, with homemade spreads and baked buns, and dinner is a three-course meal with such large portions that you might not finish it. There’s a clean swimming pool to enjoy every day, plus a spacious games room, badminton, and ping pong. You won’t want to leave. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday! Tom and Oli
