Pension Samohel

The owner was pleasant, and there’s a trampoline outside for children, though its net is torn, so you have to watch that a child doesn’t fall out. The pool is heated to 27 degrees, but the floor around it is very slippery, which didn’t feel safe with a small child. We came with a voucher from skrz.cz and had to call three numbers, then wait half an hour for someone to let us in. Our attic room had older furniture, which we didn’t mind, but it wasn’t especially nice and the windows were stuffy. The bathroom was across the corridor. We visited in autumn and the rooms were cold. We hadn’t been told to bring slippers for walking around the pension. There’s a bar downstairs in the restaurant, but it seemed to operate only at breakfast and dinner, and nobody had told us that. We went down for a beer half an hour before dinner and weren’t noticed until just before the meal was served. The restaurant was quite cold too. Breakfast was poor, and dinner was about average. Our voucher included a jug of wine for the room, but nobody offered or brought it. Wifi only worked in the dining room and kept dropping out. It could be a decent guesthouse with some changes and better attention to quality.

We were hoping to spend our honeymoon here, so this was really disappointing. I called the owner about booking a date almost a month ago, and he asked me to email him. I sent the email straight away, but he still hasn’t called back. I contacted travelking, which arranged the stay, and they said the owner wasn’t responding to them either. A lady there had apparently emailed him twice and called, without success. Thanks a lot!

The cycling trip from Horní Mísečky to Labská bouda was beautiful and went really well. My husband and I enjoyed our relaxing stay from 8-10 July 2015, and we learned a few things from you too. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Samohel (senior). We didn’t manage to see everything, so we’ll definitely come back, at least to say hello :-)). Good luck to Mr. Samohel senior on the climb to Zlaťák!!!!!! The family atmosphere is lovely, and the home-cooked food was delicious. The owner was genuinely helpful and willing to accommodate us. The towels were really small, the pillows weren’t very comfortable, and the TV worked but made a terrible noise. Those are fixable little things, though. If you’re not after absolute luxury, give it a visit...
