Motel Vega

Such a lovely spot.

I only learned on arrival that reception closes at 19:00. That's a shame, since the place looked like it could have made for an interesting stay. When I called, the owner sounded a bit irritated that he had to deal with it. A real Czech classic.

The room was tucked away from the road, so we slept peacefully, and our double room with an extra bed was ready after we booked by email and phone. I went into the night expecting an old-fashioned roadside den because of the word "motel" and its "nineties" reputation, so staying at the Vega motel was a very pleasant surprise. The place was clean, parking was available, and both the gentleman at reception and the woman at breakfast were lovely. We got a quick sightseeing tip for Benešova vila and a restaurant suggestion with a discount. We tried it and were happy with it. I also loved the photos in the hallways as a photographer. All four of us, including our toddler, enjoyed our short stay. Thank you, and good luck!

The location felt a little far from everything, and I missed having a shoehorn in the room, though I may simply not have found one. TV costs extra. Still, the rooms were clean, the service was friendly, breakfast was good, and the prices were reasonable.
