Penzion Orion

The place is clean and well kept, and cyclists are welcome. It’s in a quiet part of town, and surprisingly, the nearby railway doesn’t bother you. There’s a shared kitchen with a fridge, washing machine, kettle, microwave, hotplate, and plenty of utensils. Parking is free on the street or in the yard, and smokers can sit outside the pension. The main drawback is privacy: all the rooms share a bathroom and toilet. The hosts were pleasant and helpful during our stay, but they should keep track of who booked directly and who came through Booking, and make sure the cleaner or housekeeper knows. That could prevent mix-ups, such as with “early” departures. It should suit an overnight stop on a trip, a festival visit, or a large family. A romantic, quiet stay could work too, as long as you’re willing to compromise a little on privacy.

It’s a clean, new-looking place, but the bathrooms are shared by everyone on the hallway rather than being in the rooms. There’s just one bathroom upstairs, so when the guesthouse is full, getting in there in the morning can be difficult.

This guesthouse does what you need it to: a place to sleep during a cycling trip.

Everything was fine for me. The equipment is new, it’s clean, and the owners are happy to help with anything.
