Golf Hotel Austerlitz

I left a sign asking for the room to be cleaned, but when I got back late that evening, it still hadn't been done. The towels were unchanged and the trash was still there. The room wasn't clean enough to begin with, yet they charged the full amount and didn't provide the service they were supposed to.

The golf club has a restaurant where we could eat outside under umbrellas, and dogs were welcome. The staff there were friendly and spoke good English. I also liked the golf shop, where the cheerful saleswoman shared tips on local places to visit and happily sold me a golf ball with a smile. The hotel is close to the course, with lovely views of the Battlefield of the Three Emperors. Kristina, the manager, was warm and very responsive, even with a demanding guest like me, and her English is excellent. The rooms were clean and kept in good shape. Breakfast is part of the room price. Getting in at any hour, even in the middle of the night, was easy with a code sent ahead of time. Kristina was fine with a late checkout, and a much later one, around 5 PM, was available for an extra €20 per room. A really nice place to stay while traveling.

The breakfast was good and so was the location, but the rooms are basic and have no air conditioning. Hot nights were impossible to get through. Opening the terrace door barely helped, and banging woke us at 5:3 in the morning. There wasn't a hair dryer either.

I only went there to play a round of golf, not to stay. The course was lovely, with fairways and greens kept in good shape. The wind made it a challenge, but I really enjoyed it.
