Hotel Hradec

I didn’t like the place, even though the room was okay, the reception staff were friendly, and you can walk to the Hromovka ski lift. The dining room was constantly missing coffee and tea cups, milk, and plates. The waiter seemed annoyed whenever customers asked for them, as if he wanted us to get out. The food was simply awful: lots of oily fried things with potatoes, and some dishes seemed to use leftovers from earlier meals. Eggs from the dinner salad showed up at breakfast, and breakfast bacon was served in the dinner soup. The waiter was often drunk, rude, and couldn’t remember what drinks we’d ordered. The waiter, bartender, and cook should be fired. Never again!

We were nearly the only customers left, with just five tables occupied, yet it took an hour to get spaghetti bolognese and four soups. They got the orders wrong and gave us sour looks when we pointed it out. When our three families asked to pay separately, the waiter pressed his forehead as if we’d made the worst request imaginable. I can understand that being annoying if the place is full, but it wasn’t. The spaghetti was made with sugar and no salt, the first time I’ve ever had it that way. Terrible meal and service. I’m never going back, and that waiter should find another line of work if he can’t be patient and take orders correctly.

The restaurant was at most 20% full, but the waiter was quite rude. He ignored us at first, then when we explicitly approached him, he told us to go away because dinner was only for hotel guests. What?

The duck was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The food was excellent, and the staff were lovely and professional.
