Hotel Šipka

We came for lunch during what seemed like the busiest hour, but the food was perfect and arrived after just 15 minutes. We had fried chicken steaks and fries, and the service was among the best we’ve had in Czech Republic. The staff were very polite, too. The terrace is lovely and service was incredibly fast. There’s no playground for kids, but we loved it. Smoking outside!!!! :)))

We had a nice stay at the HOTEL. The rooms were adequate, though the cleaning could have been better. Breakfast was good, with fresh food and delicious homemade yoghurts, and both the staff and manager were friendly. The RESTAURANT food was good too, though we’d have liked more variety on the menu.

Parking may take some planning because spaces are very limited, so be sure to reserve one with your room. That aside, I’ve returned many times since my employer first booked this hotel for a work trip, including visits with my girlfriend. I fell for the place and its surroundings. The hotel is a beautiful 150 year old building with lovely rooms, a great restaurant, and tasty local beer. It’s in the middle of a lovely historic town, with romantic wooden buildings, a beautiful square where the hotel stands, and a 13th century castle overlooking town less than a 10 minute walk away. There’s been new management since early 2020, so disregard the bad reviews from earlier years.

The owners are warm and willing to meet guests’ requests, and the food is fresh, tasty, and very nice. This is a great place in the wonderful center of a picturesque little town. There are interesting places throughout the region for all kinds of visitors. We had a fantastic experience.
