Camp Telč - U Roštěnky

The relaxed service was attentive, the prices felt fair, and the benches near the trees with a peaceful waterside view made us want to stay longer. We stopped by U Roštěnky for lunch on a sunny afternoon. The menu is short, with everything cooked on the grill. We ordered the whole trout and a chicken steak because they were nearly out of the usual steaks. Both were juicy, well seasoned, and served with a little salad. Our friends got the beef steak and loved it. If you’re set on steak, get there early since it can sell out quickly :)

A lovely, peaceful spot to eat, swim, and enjoy the sunshine, and it’s very family friendly. I went at lunchtime, likely their busiest stretch, so the food took a while. The trout with vegetables and salad was worth waiting for. The service was kind, and seeing people staying overnight made me a little envious!

I only came for a meal, not to stay, and the fish I ordered was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend it!

It was very crowded, but the atmosphere was friendly. We had a great time at the camp, with a pond for swimming, a grassy beach to relax on, a playground, a workout area, and a cycling and inline-skating path. You can rent all sorts of things there, including a paddle board if you’re interested. There’s forest nearby and plenty of historical sites. The bistro really deserves to be called a restaurant: it has an outdoor grill, and the fish, grilled vegetables, and soups were amazing. The breakfast selection was wild. They also brew their own beer. It’s a camping area, so keep that in mind. We didn’t understand the bad reviews about the sanitary facilities. There are two cold-water showers at no charge, and one hot-water shower for each gender that costs 20 Kč, less than €1. I washed my long hair twice and still didn’t reach the time limit. Thanks, guys, for the friendly welcome even with the place so packed!
