Nelly Kelly's Hotel

Only stayed one night, but it was a great visit. Breakfast was delicious.

The homemade cakes and spreads at breakfast were lovely, and we had a great dinner followed by perfect Mojitos in the garden. The staff, who run it as a family, were so friendly and clearly take pride in their service. The hotel was spotless, with a super-comfy bed. It's a charming boutique place right by the historic square, with cobbled streets nearby and views of the Giant mountains. The park is just two minutes away, so I went for a morning run there. Loved our stay and hope to come back next summer.

The rooms are pleasant and clean, and I liked the bar, though it plays chart hits and pop that felt out of place in an Irish pub. When I asked for The Dubliners, they turned me down. The hotel itself runs digitally, with the key kept in a safe and no regular service. Don't order breakfast: they charge for it, but often no one is there to prepare it, though sometimes you may get a breakfast bag. Billing issues can also be difficult to sort out, since online support responds slowly. That made it hard for a business trip. I can recommend staying here if you're fine with some odd music alongside your whiskey. Cheers.

The beer is awesome, and the restaurant has a lively atmosphere, good food, and fair prices. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, though mine had a strange smell, which may have just been my room. A good spot for eating and staying. Happy to recommend it.
