Hotel Kaunic

This place has so much potential, but it feels wasted. It could provide accommodation for socially disadvantaged people while also serving guests visiting for work or a trip. It's a shame, because there could be a lot here if someone actually wanted to make it work.

I appreciated how quiet it was while I worked there; nothing disturbed me. It's an easy place to find, just a short walk from the square, almost right on it, and even tourists should have no trouble finding Kaunice. The lady serving us was attentive, quick, and very pleasant. The setting is nice too. It's not aimed at hipsters or anyone looking for something unusual, but it's a perfectly good spot to sit. There's a good selection, from hot drinks to mixed drinks 🙂

The one bright spot was the waiter who checked us in on Sunday. He was VERY WILLING and helpful on the following days too. But nobody told us the place would be closed on Sunday. We arrived to find no one around and didn't know we wouldn't be able to get food. We booked through a discount portal. The rooms were tiny, which I could have accepted, but the bathroom was DIRTY, with dust stuck around the sink and an empty soap dispenser. No hotel service came to the room as promised, so we BUYED our own toilet paper. There were no drinking glasses, cups, or toiletries cups by the sink either. When we tried to sit in the garden, the waitress snapped that she didn't serve there, despite signs inside and outside saying it was open. Breakfast left us quite hungry. BIG MINUS FOR THE TV NOT WORKING, NOR WIFI IN THE ROOM!!! PLEASE DON'T LIST THESE AS SERVICES!!!

For anyone wanting a clean, quiet place to rest after a long journey, with things like a kitchen and parking, this is highly unsuitable. The bathroom had no soap or light, smelled bad, and the shower holder was broken. It's beside a busy road, there's no cooking, and breakfast is limited to a choice of several offers.
