We got back late, but the staff still let us eat in the kitchen and served us hot soup and tartare. They were pleasant and helpful. The location worked well for visiting nearby Kolonáda Reistna and Mikulov. The rooms were comfortable and adequate. My one gripe was the lack of a proper shower, just a handheld sprayer in the tub, though I know that's common in the EU.

A small spa with a sauna and whirlpool, and the hotel is bike friendly. It's right in the centre of Valtice, a beautiful winery town, and is furnished to a high standard, so it was very comfortable. The staff were professional and well trained. Some rooms face the road, which gets busy early in the morning.

The restaurant was the real highlight: a cosy, welcoming meal, a delightful menu, and service that was attentive and funny. The hotel itself was stunning, with comfortable rooms decorated elegantly.

The room even had a little sofa, and the air conditioning was a welcome surprise in this small town in southern Moravia. It cooled the room during the midday heat. At night we could switch it off and open the windows for a fresh breeze.

The breakfast was very basic, and the staff didn't speak English. Our attic room, number 7, was also unbearably hot: the AC only worked at its lowest speed, and it stayed at 31 degrees C all night. We couldn't sleep. Staff tried to repair it but couldn't, then promised us a discount. In the morning they said we'd have to pay the full amount and email them about what happened to get the discount. I sent the email and never got a reply. I won't stay here again.
