The location is quiet and the garden is nice, but there’s no local amenities. The cottage is apparently due for renovation, so hopefully it’ll be better afterward. We had to clean everything when we arrived because it wasn’t ready to rent. I don’t know if it had been cleaned at all in the previous 2 months. The electric heating didn’t work even after switching it on at the breaker, though the stove heated nicely. There were dirty dishes with leftover food from the previous guests in the fridge and on the counter. There was no toilet paper or dishwasher detergent, so bring everything yourself.

The area is nice, though it isn’t completely quiet. There are occupied or rented cottages nearby, and you can hear the noise, but nights were quiet. Inside, there was mold and water kept dripping from the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom. There wasn’t a bucket to catch it or a cloth to wipe down the bathtub in the morning. Each person gets one small towel, so bring your own if you want to dry off properly. At 8.30, while I was unexpectedly in the bathroom, a cleaning crew rushed in without knocking or greeting us. They startled me, then blurted out a question about whether we’d taken off our masks. Checkout was set for 10 am. The best part of the cottage is behind us.

The village has no shop or restaurant, despite what the outdated website says, but there are lots of nearby places to visit and the surroundings are lovely. The cottage is older, with mold on the lower bathroom ceiling and water dripping from it. The fridge and microwave hadn’t been cleaned, though everything else had. Check-out is by 10 am. At 8:30 am the cleaning ladies arrived without warning or a greeting, surprised that the signs were still up. There’s new garden seating and a swing. Bring old newspapers to get the fireplace going, though there’s plenty of wood.

There’s plenty of room in this clean, beautiful log cabin, and the garden is lovely and well kept. The only thing missing is a fence for the dogs, though ours are well behaved 😁😉. Everything was great, and we’d love to come back. Thank you!
