Magistr Vsetin

We were let down by the hot chocolate, which came out like pudding, and the way into the cafe wasn't lit in the evening. The atmosphere inside is pleasant, the staff are friendly and quick, and the carrot cake was excellent.

The staff are friendly and quick, and the prices seem fair. There’s enough choice among the coffee and desserts, and both were excellent. Payment by card is available, though it’s oddly not possible to add a tip at the terminal. This hotel café is in central Vsetín, with lots of glass that adds to the atmosphere.

Great cakes and lovely staff in this really beautiful cafe right in the centre of Vsetín. There’s parking, and the entrance is by the post office.

The products are good, and we really enjoyed them, but the waits for service were unpleasant. On our first visit, we waited around twenty minutes to order another drink, then gave up and went to the bar to pay. Another time, after finishing our coffee, we sat to see if anyone would come over. The staff were still moving around, but busy with other things, and we waited half an hour for someone to take our next order. We’d also seen other people wait a long time for more service or to pay, before eventually heading to the bar. Nobody told us that payment could only be made there, which I didn’t understand. Maybe it’s hard to keep an eye on everyone across the cafe’s three sections while also serving hotel guests, but half an hour to order again is simply too long. The cafe itself is nice and quiet, with excellent Illy coffee and desserts. You can get coffee to go, and they have Pilsner Urquell on tap and Moretti Italian beer in chilled glasses, plus panini and mixed drinks.
