It’s a lovely guesthouse, nicely furnished, and the room has everything an ordinary traveler needs. They’re happy to welcome pets, and having our dog with us was no problem. Breakfast is the only meal they offer, but it was delicious. For lunch or dinner, there’s a restaurant on the square. The owner was very pleasant and helpful, and gave us advice on everything. The main downside was the fairly busy road right below the window, plus the church just around the corner chimes every fifteen minutes. There’s not much anyone can do about either of those. Plenty of amazing places are within driving distance, and we had a great experience overall.

We didn’t lack for anything during our stay. Our room for two at Barunka was cozy and absolutely spotless. The heating worked well, especially the heated towel rail in the bathroom, and there was always hot water. Arranging everything with the owner was easy and pleasant. Vysocina bakery, which is well known, is just around the corner. The square is about a two-minute walk away, with a great pastry shop and a Jednota that’s open on weekends too.

We had a good experience here before, so this year we came back with our children. The owners are lovely, helpful, and always ready to give advice. The rooms are nice and have private bathrooms, TVs (though no CT:D), and there’s good WiFi, a varied cold breakfast, plus a ski room with a quality boot dryer. Guests in the apartments can park in the yard. The renowned Krkonoše bakery is in the neighboring house. I highly recommend the place. In winter, book ahead, as it tends to fill up early.

Inside, the guesthouse is tastefully decorated and clean throughout, but the street outside was extremely noisy with traffic. We left early because of the noise, even though we’d paid for another night. Having to pay for the stay before arrival also seemed unusual for booking.com.

We’ve been coming back for 14 years. The rooms are tastefully furnished, prices are reasonable, and the service is exemplary. The buffet breakfast is good and generous, and the owners are lovely and welcoming. Pospíšilov from Klecany
