Hostinec U Rybníka

The pond beside the inn was a highlight for us. We could take the dog for a walk there, and on those really hot days it was able to swim. If you travel with a dog, that’s a real plus. The room was pleasant, the furnishings were new, and the air conditioning was much appreciated in the heat. Lunch and dinner were both to our liking, too. We had half board, and when the inn shut at 2 pm, they left dinner in a cart behind the door for us to put in our room fridge. There were a few things we had to work around. The room hadn’t been cleaned to the standard we expected, and there was no cutlery or glasses, though we just asked for some at breakfast the next day. We also would’ve liked somewhere in the room to sit and eat together, but it wasn’t a huge problem. Breakfast was the main disappointment. It starts at 8, and when we arrived at 8:15, the snack table looked sparse and messy. It wasn’t the selection itself so much as how little there was and how it was laid out. The inn is in a lovely spot, with nice places to drive to nearby. When the manager asked how our stay was, we shared both the positives and the problems. She was kind and clearly trying. We think the place has a lot of potential.

A total parody of a restaurant. The food was awful, and the service was unpleasant, with a terrible attitude toward guests. This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had. Avoid it.

My wife and I went there for dinner today, but at 7 pm they told us they weren’t cooking anymore, even though they don’t close until 10. I didn’t expect that, and I won’t be going back.

We only ate at the restaurant. It’s a regular village pub. The place was half empty, though the other visitors seemed to be there just for beer, and we still waited quite a while. The fried cheese was great, but the salad was less impressive.
