The food was authentic and absolutely fantastic, with good beer and staff who were both friendly and professional. My mum has trouble walking, and they let us park at the back and enter through the staff door. We really appreciated that. About Cogniforge's comment on English not being used more in CR: do you ever use other languages in your own country? Do you have Czech for Czechs, Polish, German, or Portuguese? No. So why expect everyone to cater to you?

I've been here a couple of times and really love the Halušky, Husa, Krkovice, and BBQ Hovězí. Everything is super delicious, and the portions are generous.

The restaurant was okay, but of the four different main dishes I tried, only one appealed to me, and even that one didn't make much of an impression. For me, the high price isn't justified. The staff were nicely dressed, though not especially kind or friendly. It was good to meet waiters who spoke English. The toilets are great, but signs that everyone could understand would help people find the men's and women's toilets, since the signs were only in Czech. The interior was nice apart from a flickering LED light above us. It'd be a really cheap fix, but apparently they don't care enough to sort it out, which is sad.

It takes a good hour to eat here, so don't come expecting a quick meal. I thought the time was well spent. The service was very pleasant and accommodating, and the Czech food was very good for the most part. A nice surprise, and there are some lighter dishes too.

I was completely wrong about the place. From outside it looked like an unremarkable restaurant near a gas station, and I wouldn't have chosen it at first glance. But I was impressed the moment I walked in: the service was great, the interior looked nice, and the food was fantastic, all at a reasonable price. I'd happily recommend it to everyone.
