There’s no air conditioning, and opening the windows wasn’t an option because it was extremely noisy all night. Then, at 0200, we woke to bug bites in room 11. My partner had 40 bites, and we killed 15 mature (5cm) bed bugs. We stripped the bed and couldn’t get back to sleep. In the morning, staff gave us a can of bug spray, moved us to a different room, and refunded one night’s money. After 16 days, my partner’s bites were still itchy, swollen, and blistered. They ruined her travels, and mine too.

We got clear instructions for collecting the keys, and the value was good. There’s no breakfast or coffee maker, but lots of great places to eat just a few metres away. The location is brilliant, right in the heart of Aachen and a short walk from the Rathaus and the amazing cathedral. I met the receptionist in the morning, and they were warm and friendly. Top notch!!!

Claudia was fantastic at looking after whatever we needed, from making the large batches of coffee we went through to sorting out the somewhat troublesome lift. The hotel is clean and perfectly placed in the old part of the city, with plenty of bars, restaurants, and cafes to choose from. I’d thoroughly recommend it to anyone needing to stay in central Aachen, for a weekend or a longer trip. 5 out of 5.

Right on the Aachen market, and the food was great too. The rooms are modern, well equipped, and very high quality. It’s the most hospitable hotel in Aachen. You feel like you’re among friends, and there’s nothing left to wish for.

The breakfast is a real draw if you want a typically generous German spread: bread, meat, cheese, granola, nutella, juice, and more. The hotel has a bed and breakfast sort of feel, and the service was welcoming. The language barrier barely caused any trouble. My parents stayed here while visiting me in Aachen, and the location is remarkable, right by the old city’s central market, with the old town center across the way and shops and restaurants nearby. Great place to stay in Aachen!
