Limehome Aachen Vereinsstrasse

A week after we checked out, we got a message saying the room was exceptionally soiled and we owed 50 Euros. There was no explanation or photo, nothing. We've stayed in 100 hotels and never had this happen. When we asked for towels for our baby, housekeeping didn't bring them that day because of how management had communicated with them. And the kitchenette doesn't even have a freezer. I booked anyway because of the price, kitchenette, and location. Awful.

The suite was smaller than the size agreed during online booking, and it didn't look like the pictures. There was no reception available, so I couldn't get support during my five-day stay. I posted my problems on the website, but got only a template reply saying they were very sorry. I expected room service on day three, but there was none, and the bathroom supplies and coffee weren't replenished during the stay. The listing said there was a central washing machine, but that wasn't true. This hotel was a waste of money.

The location and rooms are good, but two hours before I arrived I was told the room I'd booked wasn't available. They offered a much smaller one instead. I appreciate the refund, but I wanted the room I had reserved. It was very disappointing, and now I can't know whether I'll get the room I book next time or be downgraded again.

Getting into the building means checking your email ahead of time for the access code. Also, don't expect a concierge or extra services here, so it may not suit you if that's what you want from a hotel. For a single traveler or couple who values a modern, functional space, it works really well. You can cook and make coffee in the room, and walk to the city center in 10-15 mins. I'd like to stay again.
