We’d happily come back to Haus Waldesruh. It’s wonderfully quiet and relaxing, with lakes and wildlife parks nearby for day trips. Our room and bathroom were spotless and cleaned every day. Breakfast was excellent, especially the eggs cooked fresh each morning, which seemed to come from happy hens. Dinner was good, generous, and served promptly as a three-course meal, with good German cooking. We skipped the bowling alley because the weather was too nice to spend time bowling.

The surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful. I really liked the food, and there was enough to choose from at the breakfast buffet.

The room was large, and dinner was nice. The bowling alley is basic, and breakfast was only mediocre. By 9:00, apparently the eggs were gone, and no one made an effort to sort it out. Don’t expect much friendliness here. For the price, though, it seems fair. It was very quiet around the hotel. I haven’t seen the sauna yet, and the bar shuts at 21:00. There’s no fridge in the room or vending machine, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a stay of several nights or for fun evenings.
