Best Western Premier Castanea Resort Hotel

The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished, and have a well-built bathroom. There’s plenty of free parking, and the setting is very quiet, with a golf course, spa, bar, and restaurant on site. The restaurant food wasn’t great, but there are plenty of other places to eat nearby. Our room WiFi was down for a few days, though the receptionist suggested good alternatives. The staff were nice, and as someone who travels a lot, I’d put this among the better hotels I’ve stayed in. I can’t complain about anything else.

For a stay that includes time in the spa, this is a very good hotel. My room was large, clean, and well equipped. I didn’t use the spa or have dinner in the restaurant, so I can’t comment on either. Breakfast was standard. The hotel is in Adendorf, on the northern edge of Lüneburg. For just one night, though, I found the price too high.

Our guests left delighted, with some saying it was the best wedding they’d attended. We booked a weekend that included a wedding dinner and were looked after so well. The welcome at reception was warm, and the restaurant staff were lovely. Our waiter, Rafael, stayed with us until early morning and really pampered us. We all had a great time in the sauna and whirlpool. Huge thanks to the whole team, we’ll definitely be back!

The suite was dirty, which was a real disappointment. Dust and dead insects were everywhere, the drapes were filthy and full of holes, and the toilet looked like it had been hit with a shotgun. It was also very hot inside, with no air seeming to circulate, so I suspect the ventilation wasn’t working. The place feels badly aged and urgently needs renovation. Leaving was the best part of the stay. Parking was plentiful and free, and the staff welcomed us, though everyone seemed a little tired. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, but the quality was okay.
