Parking was easy, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Everything was very clean. The only drawback was that the bed creaked when I turned over. We enjoyed our stay!

We booked several rooms at the Alanus Guesthouse for our wedding guests and were really pleased with the setting on the Alanus University grounds. It was green and very quiet, with plenty of parking about 200 meters away and two short-stay spaces right outside for loading and unloading. Ms. Heidtmann was so friendly to deal with, and the staff made an effort to meet our specific requests. Breakfast in the neighboring building had a small, excellent spread of fresh organic vegetarian food. We'd happily recommend the Alanus Guesthouse, and we're grateful to Ms. Heidtmann for such pleasant communication.

The vegetarian and vegan food is excellent, and the staff are attentive. I felt completely at home and would gladly come back. This was my second stay at the Alanus Guesthouse, for another training course in the free-running method. I was lucky to get the room with the loveliest view, and its thoughtful design and furnishings made it a pleasure to stay in again.

The guesthouse is clean and in a lovely spot, though the furnishings are very simple. My ground-floor room had full-height windows and felt quite exposed. There was no working Wi-Fi, and the bathroom had no window. Breakfast was very basic, and definitely without sausage.

I slept wonderfully, so the stay had its upside, but the room was surprisingly expensive. Next time I'd look for somewhere cheaper and more central. The countryside setting is idyllic, right by the forest with a lovely view over the lowlands, and nights were very quiet. Getting to shops or restaurants takes a long walk, though, and the hotel has no evening dining. Inside, it was a fairly standard room with a few personal touches: subtle art, a bit of graffiti on the wall, a snack box, and chairs with unusual cushions. There was plenty of daylight from the large windows, and the lighting was very good even after dark. The room was a decent size with enough, though not generous, storage. The free Wi-Fi worked well, and there was a small TV, but sounds from the hallway carried in more than I expected. The bathroom was spacious and accessible, but ventilation was poor and the mirror steamed up fast. Reception is open only from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. You can arrange to collect the key outside those hours, but checkout and payment need to fit around the desk hours.
