The price works well when you’re booking as a group, and the peaceful spot has nice neighbors, room for 4-5 cars, Wi-Fi, towels, a new washing machine and kitchen chairs, and even charcoal and firewood that may have been left by other guests. There are five rooms with two beds each, shops 4-5 km away, and we’ve managed to have a good time here with the right crowd. This was our fourth year visiting, but the house has kept getting worse. We’d consider returning if the problems were fixed and the website showed updated photos of the repairs. The kitchen is badly short of plates, glasses, cutlery and pots. The flypaper was full of insects when we arrived. There were many dead insect stains on the ceilings, some mold in the corners, and a musty smell that eased a little after airing the place out. In two rooms, insects had infested the furniture. Several doors stick so badly that you have to try adjusting them yourself, though the jammed handles make that almost impossible. This affected the shower area, downstairs toilet and living room. The toilet also can’t be locked because its strike plate is broken. In the shower, the grout was moldy and the fitting was faulty, so the rain shower head couldn’t be connected. A newly fitted washing machine pipe was left exposed, with no attempt to replace or adjust the tile. The smoker grill was ruined, its grate supports rusted away, and there were no brushes for cleaning the grates.
