Seehotel Töpferhaus

We were there for two days for a work team event, so we didn’t try the sauna or yoga classes. The meeting rooms, restaurant, and private rooms were modern and spotless, and the staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was exceptional. The buildings looked a little old-fashioned from outside, though the interiors were nicely furnished and decorated. The spot by the Bistensee is beautiful. I’d definitely consider coming back for a private stay.

With friendly service, high-quality food, and a peaceful, stunning lakeside setting, Töpferhaus in Duvenstedt is a great choice for meetings or events.

We first found this place about four years ago, when we drove down to Germany while visiting family in Denmark. We’ve been back three times now and have loved every visit. It’s surrounded by beautiful nature, well away from the crowds, and the rooms are cozy and comfortable, just right for us. The food is delicious, too. I especially liked watching the swans on the lake in the morning and taking walks in the forest. It really feels like a hidden gem.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve seen, with lots of choice and excellent quality. The staff were friendly and helpful, too. The best part for me was the huge barrel sauna, with a stunning view and the chance to dive into the lake after warming up. It wasn’t clear whether we were meant to use it with swimwear or without, though. The rooms are spacious and nice, and the house is right beside a wonderful lake, a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature. It was pricey, but worth it.
