Gasthaus Falkenhain

After a hearty breakfast, we had a nice chat with the hosts, who gave us lots of tips for planning the day, even with the weather not being great. We booked a long weekend and were absolutely delighted. The room was wonderful, and dinner left nothing to be desired. It really is beautiful here ☀️👍 Thanks so much for a lovely stay. We'll definitely be back.

We had two wonderful days at the Falkenhain Inn. The rooms are a little dated, but everything was clean and we felt at ease. Our hosts were so friendly, and we had the chance to eat there in the evening. The food was freshly made and delicious. We'll come back.

We watched a lovely sunset from the little terrace each day, and the owners were so friendly that we felt completely at home. The room was simple but comfortable, with a small kitchen, and the shower and toilet worked perfectly. We'd be glad to return 😁

The one thing going for this place is the peace and quiet. We were asked to cancel our Booking.com reservation and book directly instead. The rooms were advertised with private bathrooms, but one double room had to share an extremely small bathroom with the single room. The hotel is badly run down. The toilet wobbles on the wall, and so does the sink. The hallway smells of stale cooking fumes. When we opened the windows to air it out, we were insulted and accused of letting dampness into the building. The heating was turned down all the time, so it was cold when we came back. Breakfast was very basic, though the coffee was good. The solyanka was okay, the seasoned meat came from a can, and the Carlsbad cake got no comment. Never again.
