We only booked one night and regretted not staying longer. The mountain air seemed to do my son's asthma a lot of good. The room's furnishings aren't new, but it was clean and comfortable, so that was fine. We wandered around the nature near the hotel, eating plenty of blueberries and wild strawberries, and went to the nearby zoo and family park in Altenberg. The bobsleigh track at the end of the valley is interesting to see too. At first the restaurant felt a bit odd because you order at a kiosk, but the staff were super friendly and the food was great. The sauna and whirlpool looked tempting, so we'd consider a longer visit next time the chance comes up.

Breakfast was okay, and the room was acceptable. The four days overall weren't a good stay, though. We had half board, which turned out to be a bad choice because dinner was poor. I'd avoid lunch and dinner at this hotel. I'd recommend it only as a B&B if you're mainly looking for a room, which is why I gave two stars for the room and breakfast.

The staff are still very helpful even though the hotel recently changed owners. They try to find solutions that work for both sides and help with whatever you need. Our team comes here almost every year.
