We’ve already stayed here twice, and we may well come back for a third. It’s a great place to relax, with nearby attractions and a lovely thermal spa. The apartment is peaceful, really nice, and has everything you need for a holiday. Tanja and Jens are very friendly hosts. You can buy drinks from the landlord, and shops are just a few kilometres away by car. Best wishes to Tanja and Jens.

The surrounding area is beautiful, with lots of charming little villages, and there are castle ruins nearby. The apartment sits on a mountain about 430 metres high, on the ground floor, with parking around 50 metres away. It’s lovingly furnished and has everything needed for everyday life. Tanja and Jens are incredibly friendly and happy to help with small requests. Drinks are available on site for a modest price, and they have great suggestions for things to do and places to shop. Definitely somewhere I’d like to return to for another holiday.

We found real peace in this charming little village, and slept wonderfully in the fantastic bed. The apartment itself is small but lovely, exceptionally clean and well cared for. It’s thoughtfully furnished, with plenty of useful things, and there are instructions for the appliances plus information about excursions and answers to almost any question that might come up. That level of detail is hard to match. We booked by chance for a spontaneous trip to the area, and the place and its owners exceeded our expectations. The hosts gave us a personal, genuinely warm welcome. We’d be very happy to come back.

Altenstein’s position on a ridge, with wide views across the plains, reminded me of Italy. Franconia is well worth visiting, and this is a great base for hiking, cycling, or sightseeing. We spent a few lovely days in the apartment. The welcoming owners have furnished it with care and attention to detail, and it has every comfort. It was also among the best-maintained apartments we’ve rented. Highly recommended.

The countryside around here is beautiful, with plenty of hiking and cycling trails, plus lots of castles and palace ruins to explore. Altenstein’s castle ruins were the most beautiful to me. The apartment was lovely and exceptionally clean, and the hosts were very friendly. Great value for money. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
