Hotel Schloss Amerang

The event guests ended up having a wonderful experience, but getting it organized was a struggle. The hosts had a hard time coordinating with the castle. Replies to emails didn’t come through, and rooms they’d already been told they could use were nearly double-booked, among other things you’d expect event-space staff to handle. I’d proceed cautiously. Once there, the castle was easy to reach if you check a map, parking was adequate, and the exterior, main event space, and rooms I saw were all lovely. There’s also a nice cafe on site.

We’ve been to several concerts and theater performances at Amerang over the past few years, and every one was a great event. The location is exceptional. We haven’t stayed at the hotel or visited the museum.

The Café was shut at lunchtime on a Saturday, so I can’t tell when it might actually be open. The schloss was closed for a private function, which you only learn once you reach the gate. It feels too far away to chance a visit without knowing. Will it be open? Will the Café be open? I don’t plan to find out.

I didn’t stay here, so I can’t comment on the rooms. I was here for a wedding, and the food was incredible. It’s a beautiful place, and the staff were very friendly.
