Boutique - Hotel Zum Schloss

We came across this sweet place while traveling. The hotel is nicely styled, comfy and very clean, and we also ate well at the restaurant. Everyone on staff was super nice, so we’d happily come back. I did wish there were a few floor mats around. When I went outside to smoke or stepped onto the balcony, I felt bad walking back in with wet shoes, so I’d taken them off.

The room was modern, clean and comfortable, and the hotel was great for a night’s sleep. We could hear a nearby church, but earplugs let us sleep comfortably. The restaurant, though, was only average for food, taste and service. Fine for staying overnight, just not our favorite place to eat.

The rooms felt completely new, and everything was very clean and quiet. It’s a small hotel and B&B in a small town, but the staff did their best to make the stay feel just right. Breakfast was included and nice, and there were enough parking spaces. The restaurant closes on Wednesdays. For the price, the quality was very good. It’s a lovely place to stay, nearly at the level of a grand hotel.

I stayed at Zum Schloss in July 2023 and thought it was a wonderful place. Breakfast, the rooms, cleaning and service were all great, and I especially liked the interior, down to the little details. There was one small issue with the room tablet, which worked very slowly. I hadn’t even expected to find a tablet there, so it’s just something that could be improved. Also, if they want to improve ESG, fixing the shower seals could mean fewer wet towels and less water and energy use, as well as less cleaning work for staff. I’d recommend the hotel even to a very demanding guest.
