For the price, this was great. I stayed 6 days in Arnsberg in an old, slightly quirky building near the bell tower. Herr Wulf was a friendly host and was very willing to offer advice and tips. The place had 4 large rooms, including a lounge with a sofa, chairs and TV, and a kitchen with a table, chairs, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Bedroom 1 had a double bed and a single, while bedroom 2 had 2 single beds. The shower head was a bit of a problem, though replacing it would fix that. Some of the sockets also looked a bit dodgy.

We enjoyed the company during our stay, but the apartment itself was a different story. The location is beautiful and central, its only real plus. Maintenance has been seriously neglected, many amenities are broken, and the place was poorly arranged and not clean. We found sheets with holes, loose faucets, outlets sticking out of the wall, broken light fixtures, sagging beds, worn furniture and a dishwasher that stopped working. The electrical system seemed dangerous, and there were hardly any smoke detectors or other fire safety equipment. One room was apparently rented out permanently, so we had no control over the front door. It was simply left open when we returned. The building may be meant to have historic charm, but it feels dilapidated. I don't think this apartment is suitable for rentals, especially for families with children or people with limited mobility. I wouldn't stay again without thorough renovation and serious improvements to safety.

Such a shame, because this 16th-century building has so much potential. It’s very run-down and completely dilapidated. The sanitary facilities are outdated, the place is very noisy, and the furnishings look like a jumble of leftovers. The facilities are worse than in many youth hostels.
