At Alis Farm Hotel, we saw animals, mainly pregnant dogs, kept in small, dirty cages with contaminated water and leftover food from the hotel. There were even fish bones in the cages. The other animals only get out at certain times for children, and they look miserable in the children's hands. Ask staff where Mocha the brown dog is, and which small cage she is in this time, with no water. This place should be inspected and shut down for animal abuse.

The rooms, beds, and towels are quite worn, and they still have smoking rooms. There's a restaurant, though I didn't try it. Breakfast is optional and acceptable. It's a simple, budget range hotel with a parking lot out front, suited to people passing through or working nearby.

The rooms are basic, but clean, and the owner and his wife make you feel very welcome. I'm personally not keen on the German-style bed setup, but hey, we're in Germany, so you adapt!

The service was very good and personal. They took time for guests and looked after us well. The prices are moderate and breakfast is included. In summer, especially if you get a larger room, Assos could be a nice place to spend a few days between the upper Danube and lower Lech. It's a small city hotel, and fine for a good night's sleep, but that was about it for me. My room was small, clean, and sparsely furnished. I wouldn't want to stay longer, though it was okay overnight. It was also very noisy, and I could hear people from other rooms in the hallway. There are only a few spaces on site, but a free public parking lot is next door. The Mediterranean-style decor has lots of terracotta. It might work in summer, but in winter it felt cold enough to make you shiver. The restaurant food wasn't fresh. The hearty goulash soup tasted and looked canned, with spices added to make it seem hearty. The grill was overwhelmed with onions, and ketchup and mayo came in bottles beside the fries. Looking into the kitchen, it seemed like they reheated food more than they cooked fresh, and often used ready-made products. Also, Witz having its office in the restaurant didn't look very professional, though it suited them.

For 75 euros, the value was absolutely terrible. I was in the area for work and stayed at this old, run-down hotel. The rooms weren't clean, the bathroom was old, and the mattresses were worn out. The Camembert was tasty and okay, but the main-course schnitzel was frozen and dripping with grease. Breakfast was just a small plate of cold cuts.
