The hotel and restaurant both have a lovely style, but the missing wine list was really odd. We were offered a choice of just two bottles we didn't know. Our room faced a surprisingly busy village road, and with no AC and too much heat, opening the window meant putting up with the traffic noise. The bed was much too hard, so we had a poor night. Such a shame.

The town was small and cozy, and the renovated room worked fine for one night, though it wasn't very large. At the restaurant, the waitress was lovely and the wines were pleasant, but the food took a long time. My sirloin was extremely tough, more like skirt steak, with no seasoning on the meat and far too much in the sauce. The duck was okay, but nothing special. It felt like the restaurant wanted to do high-end cuisine without quite having the skill or good enough ingredients.

We were in the centre, but our room was quiet, clean, and really nice. The staff were friendly too. It would be good if the TVs had channels in other languages as well as German, especially for guests who don't speak German.

On the drive from Épernay to Kiel, we stopped here for the night. The room was quiet, fresh, modern, and felt luxurious, with everything we needed. Staff were friendly, and the price was decent.

We didn't stay at the hotel, but had a great experience in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the people and service were lovely. They have a great wine selection, so even stopping in for a glass is worthwhile. 👍🥂
