Schnütgenhof Appartements

There aren't many dishes on the menu, but the food tasted great and came out quickly. The kids' menu includes a free "thief plate", just an empty plate for a child to share their parents' food. Prices are very reasonable for the location, and the lake view is a big bonus. Really liked the restaurant, and I'd definitely come back ❤️🌅

The building may look a little old-fashioned from outside, but the food is really tasty. The Schnitzel was the best I've had so far, with very tender meat, fresh salads, and a mild pepper and mushroom sauce. The staff speak English quite well, so it's easy to communicate if you don't speak German. Dogs are welcome indoors, too. And the restaurant has a fantastic view. Sitting outside with a beer in summer could be really romantic.

After a long day hiking, this was a lovely place to stop and rest. We had lunch at Schnutgenhof when it was empty, enjoyed the good, thick fries and hot chocolate, and the waiter kindly said we could pitch our tent in the woods behind Schnutgenhof. It turned out to be a beautiful spot to rest. The one downside is all the noise from the highway and train. The valley makes it carry quite loudly.

The food was okay, but the service wasn't very friendly and the place didn't feel very child-friendly either. It's one of the few restaurants I wouldn't recommend.
