Winzerhof Keller

The landlords are easy to approach and clearly enthusiastic about winemaking. We even got to join the grape-picking team, then enjoy Kartoffelsuppe after the work. Our apartment was clean, well equipped, and looked out over the vines. It made for a perfect holiday, with a nice mix of active days and time to relax. A beautiful base in the Black Forest for trips to Basel, Freiburg, and Hoch Schwartzwald.

Avoid this accommodation. There was construction work, promises that weren’t kept, missing amenities, and no willingness to acknowledge the problems. We were promised in advance that reviews would be censored and deleted. We’ll see who has more staying power.

Before you arrive, make sure to ask which of the advertised extras shown in the text and photos are actually available and included in the price. Our experience of hospitality turned into hostility. We definitely did not feel welcome or wanted. We won’t stay in Auggen again, at least not with the Keller family.

We spent 10 days at the Keller family's winery in the beautiful Spätburgunder apartment. It was modern, tastefully furnished, spacious, and very clean. The kitchen had everything a home cook could need, and the huge sun terrace was a lovely place for meals and wine. With the weather so hot, we made good use of the Mediterranean-style pool. Tanja and Stefan were welcoming hosts, always happy to chat and full of useful excursion tips. The vineyards are close by and great for long walks. We also loved Stefan’s wine tasting, held in a really relaxing atmosphere with tasty (Hel)Mut wines, light snacks, and lots of interesting stories and insights. His passion for modern winemaking came through clearly. It was lovely seeing several generations living and working together so harmoniously at the Keller winery. Amy and Maya, the two dogs, were very sweet and easygoing and added to the warm atmosphere. Thanks again for such a wonderful time!
