For an overnight stay in Augsburg, City Hotel Ost am Kö worked well for us. It’s close to restaurants, coffee shops, an underground car park, and the Old Town sights are only a few minutes away on foot. We’d be happy to stay again. The room was standard but comfortable enough, with good beds, working A/C, a spacious bathroom, TV, open clothes closet, fridge, and hair dryer. There was no kettle for tea or coffee, but everything else we needed for a basic overnight stay was there. We booked through booking.com the day before and got confirmation right away. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Annahof underground car park is a two to three minute walk away, and the front desk can provide an overnight parking code for a discounted rate. The lobby and ground-floor restaurant have a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was included and had a good continental selection: muesli, bread, cheeses, meats, juice, and coffee. They’ll also make eggs or an omelette how you like it.

Breakfast was the highlight for me. The location is good and everything was clean, but the rooms are small and the hotel feels pretty basic. It was practical, just not a particularly memorable or enjoyable stay.

Justin made our mornings at breakfast memorable. As an Aussie, I love a flat white, and although he’d only heard of one before, he was happy to take a little guidance and made me a near-perfect coffee. The next morning, it was ready when I arrived. He showed the same friendly care and attention to everyone at breakfast. Absolute legend.

The staff were great and really helpful with directions. There’s a market 200m away with good places to eat and a biergarten, though it closes at 5 pm. For other options, staff were happy to recommend restaurants within a 10-minute walk. City Hotel Ost am Kö is right in the city center, comfortable, and serves a great breakfast. The garage is in the next building, and you pay for it at the hotel.

A solid choice: this feels like an old-school German business hotel from around 1970, but it’s well maintained and comfortable. The rooms were in good shape, the staff helpful, and breakfast was nice. WiFi worked well, and you can easily walk to the train or take the streetcar one stop.
