Gästehaus Auhagen

We were really pleased with everything here. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there are several places to sit in the pretty cottage garden, including spots for smokers. The owners are very friendly. It's a charming place for anyone who enjoys a simple rural feel and isn't looking for luxury. We'd happily come back, and I highly recommend it 💯💯👍👍

The kitchen was the worst part of our stay. The stove, oven, toaster, dishes and other utensils were greasy and very dirty, as if they hadn't been cleaned in years. That was really unpleasant. We also had residents downstairs shouting at us and slamming doors across the building because they thought our visitors' breakfast in the apartment at 10 a.m. was disturbing them. A polite conversation would have been enough. They were probably related to the owner. The apartments, numbers 2 and 3, are very dated, and some things are broken, though at that price we could have put up with that. The owner was friendly when we arrived, but we didn't see her again. The setting is idyllic and usually quiet, though we were unlucky over Pentecost weekend: village square celebrations ran late until 3 a.m. on both evenings, with a live band one night and a disco the other.

The grounds are very spacious, and I can picture a family enjoying a lovely holiday here in a home-like setting. Our dog stayed without an extra charge. When we arrived, the welcome was reserved but friendly. The house is sprawling, with furnishings that feel somewhat mismatched and dated. Our room smelled as though someone had smoked in it, and the bathroom is reached through a hallway.

Wi-Fi is free, though the signal is unfortunately very weak in some rooms. Each clean room has its own bathroom, a small kitchenette with a refrigerator, and a TV. The guesthouse is lovingly furnished in a rustic style, the hosts are friendly, and the location is quiet.
