Dinner was delicious, and the restaurant has a cosy feel. We were welcomed warmly, the staff were super friendly, and our room was clean with decor that felt genuinely original. Everything was great apart from one thing: a couple brought a small dog to the restaurant, and it barked all evening. A lot of guests seemed bothered but were too polite to speak up. The staff should have stepped in.

Runa, our puppy, was welcome in both restaurants, even the Ritterkeller, which made the stay feel extra special. We ate dinner at Zum Rad and Ritterkeller, and the food was delicious both times. Breakfast had plenty of variety, too. The staff were among the friendliest and most attentive we’ve met at a hotel in Germany. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Arthus and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling with pets.

We chose Hotel Arthus for its unusual character and central location for what we needed during our two-night visit in fall 2023. The spa bath in the room and heated bathroom floors were lovely, and having a Nespresso machine was a nice extra. We ate at the restaurant both evenings; the food was good and the service great. My husband says the Aulendorf beer is his favourite in Germany so far, even after two trips to Oktoberfest.

Breakfast had a huge range of foods and was excellent. The restaurant also serves a good selection of local dishes, which really gives you a taste of the area, and the food was very good. Salvatore deserves a special thank you for walking us through the menu and making such helpful suggestions. He was so kind to us. The hotel itself is in a lovely, quiet spot and was clean. Rooms are simple but very cosy, with their own distinctive touches. I’d definitely recommend Hotel Arthus to anyone visiting nearby.

The little bathroom for kids was adorable. Our room was spacious, with a medieval style, and the staff were so thorough with cleaning that they even lined up our slippers on the floor. I really love this hotel, and the service was right on point.
