Hotel Stadt Aurich

The rooms are large, with quality furnishings and a nice bathroom, and breakfast was very good. The central location puts you near key businesses in Aurich, and parking is free. Front desk service was great. It costs a bit more than similar hotels on average.

We were visiting from the US and had brunch at the Hotel Stadt restaurant a few days before New Year’s Eve with a party of 13. I wanted to share how disappointed I was about the napkins. Our waitress gave us green cocktail napkins. I noticed some nicer black ones with deer and trees, folded behind a small bar on the right, and went to gather them, thinking she had forgotten us. She said we couldn’t use them because they were being saved for New Year’s Eve. But the smaller tables had those napkins already folded on them, so it seemed they weren’t all being held back. I would have thought an establishment like yours could have bought more of the nice holiday napkins, which are everywhere at that time of year. It was disappointing that they were kept from such a large group of guests for the sake of maybe using them for patrons a few days later. I just wanted to share my thoughts, and perhaps next year you could buy more of the nice napkins for the holidays.

A calm, nice location and friendly staff. The room was in excellent condition and thoroughly clean. I’ll visit again.

After a 1000 km bicycle tour from the UK, I usually look for cheaper hotels, but an October rainstorm in northwestern Germany made for a hard choice, especially since the cheaper places just before town weren’t open. I paid a little under 100 Euros for the night, which was above my budget, but they were very hospitable and let me keep my bicycle in a locked storage room. The German-style buffet breakfast was complimentary, first class, and much appreciated. Thanks to the great bathroom and room heating system, I could wash and dry all my wet clothes and set off toward the coast feeling fresh the next morning.
