Getting here takes you a little off the beaten path, but it’s well worth it. The owner is excellent and seems to handle everything herself, from the food and drinks to the music. Such a hidden gem.

We spent two nights here with our family and little dog while traveling through Europe. Ingrid was a huge help with ideas for making the most of the area, and breakfast was fantastic. We stayed in plenty of places on the trip, but none matched the warm welcome from Ingrid and Helmut. Thanks so much, we’d happily recommend it.

We’ve already stayed with Ingrid and Helmut twice, and we’re planning a third visit soon. Their holiday apartment and B&B at Ferienwohnungen + Gasthaus Kachel are wonderful, and they do everything they can to make guests feel welcome. If you’re exploring the Rhine Valley, including Bacharach and Bacharach-Steeg, Familie Kachel is the place to stay. Ingrid met us at the train in her car, then gave us a detailed, really informative tour of Bacharach and the surrounding area. We had a great stay and would recommend staying here to anyone.

The owners are a lovely couple and were ready to help with anything we needed. The apartments are comfortable and have all the amenities you need. A wonderful place to explore the fantastic Rhine.
