Land-Gut-Hotel Zum Metzgerwirt

We were happy to come across this spot for lunch during our drive. The staff were welcoming, and both dishes hit the mark: the trout was cooked just right, and the Wiener Schnitzel tasted fresh and delicious. Such a great restaurant.

Those spare ribs were spectacular, beautifully cooked and presented, and the serving was so huge we skipped dinner that day. It ended up being the best meal of our holiday. We’d turned off the main road because we were hungry while heading to Alsace, and found this lovely place by chance. The welcome was warm, even though we know only about three words in German. We’ll keep it in mind for future journeys.

A lovely, peaceful place to rest or make a quick stop for something tasty. The portions are bigger than you can manage 🤤. The rooms are great too, though they get a little warm in summer.

The service was great, and the pork roast was awesome. You step in and feel like you're on holiday, with music on Mondays and local women enjoying their drinks. It's a great traditional Bavarian restaurant, and there aren't many like it left. Thanks so much, I'll be back.
