There’s plenty of room to relax, and the beds are really comfortable. The rooms feel warm and cozy, and the food was excellent. If you like a family run hotel without lots of steel and glass, this is a topper. It felt comfortably gezellig and we had a very enjoyable stay. The main issue was the stairs. This hotel isn’t suitable if you have trouble climbing them. The front door gets locked after a certain time, and getting Mam up the outside steel spiral staircase was no fun. The wider indoor staircase had so many steps that Mam nearly couldn’t manage it. As a smoker, I also found it disappointing that the only place to have an after dinner cigarette was a wet, windy balcony.

I only stayed one night to rest after 36 hours of travel before continuing the journey. A friendly young man from Italy welcomed me, and otherwise everything was fine. But with all my luggage, I needed a cab back to the train station, and nobody could arrange one. At first they told me to call myself. I didn’t know a number, and they said to google it, though I couldn’t use my phone there. I asked the woman to look it up; she tried three numbers, none worked, and gave up. In the end I had to carry over 50 of luggage the whole way. That was disappointing. Keep in mind, the hotel closes at 10 pm, and you can’t get served after 8.

We stayed for one night with our little baby. I liked that a connecting door joins two rooms, which seems handy for family or close friends to visit each other without going outside. The one thing I wasn’t happy with was the bed’s headboard being right under the window. Cold air blew onto our heads all night.
