We were a group of 16 celebrating a birthday and ordered from the menu. Even though the restaurant was full, nearly everyone got their food at the same time. The venison, duck, and roast were all tasty, and the portions were more than enough for me. It felt like proper home cooking, the kind you'd get at your mother's. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were excellent. Both free and paid parking are an easy walk away. Good traditional German food.

We booked a double room at short notice for the weekend and found the service very friendly and the room clean. The home-style Franconian cooking was excellent, just like Mom's. We especially liked the Kaiserschmarren, a shredded pancake, which you don't come across much in Upper Franconia.

The rooms are clean and practical, with country-style decor, though anyone expecting something very modern may be disappointed. The staff are accommodating and clearly focused on guests. It's a good fit if you're after traditional Bavarian or Franconian food and lodging in Bad Berneck, and the price for what you get is excellent.

The breakfast is very limited, and the sliced sausage is so thin you can see through it. Staff were friendly, but for the price the value was only satisfactory. I also think firefighters should inspect this guesthouse or hotel. The upstairs rooms seem like mouse traps in a fire, with no way out.
