After booking, I politely asked the owner for a late check-in at 22.00, even though check-ins normally run only until 20.00. He said he wasn't in the mood, didn't want to drive 30 km for it, and shouted that I shouldn't have asked. Then he ended the call, leaving me with no solution. He also refused my refund request. Since I'd paid, I went there anyway to check in, but couldn't find anyone and got no answer to my messages. Given how aggressively he treated me, I don't understand how he can work in hospitality. I'd advise avoiding this property.

The owner was so warm, open, and lovely. We rarely meet someone like that, and any question or request was handled right away. The location is excellent and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is classic and unbeatable for the price, with great value overall. If you're going hiking and want a comfortable bed and a tasty breakfast, this is the place. A huge, heartfelt recommendation! 👍

We'd been to Bad Berneck twice before and stayed at this pension for one night on our third visit. Our attic room was very spacious, and the furnishings matched the price range. The bathroom was quite narrow but perfectly fine. The room was very clean, and the bed was okay. The operators were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay too, with fresh coffee and rolls, and there was enough for us. A beautifully landscaped park nearby is great for a walk. On the way there, we had a very good dinner at an Italian restaurant. We can recommend this pension with a clear conscience.
