Sport Hotel Bad Bevensen

Room 44 was okay, and the hotel is fine for a night or two. But the place’s potential seems to be going unused. It’s due for renovation, and more attention to detail would help. The website photos also look a bit out of date. Nearly the whole building, including the rooms, has carpeting, which I personally don’t find very pleasant.

Breakfast was very good and plentiful, and the beds were comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms had recently been renovated, though the place still felt a bit dated. We were greeted by a gentleman at reception, and the hotel itself smelled slightly musty. Cleanliness seemed generally good at first, aside from a few small issues, but the toilets, radiators, and room ventilation weren’t working properly. Some of the gym equipment was also out of order.

Breakfast was really good, with a nice range of cold cuts and cheeses, some fruit and vegetables, pudding or quark, scrambled eggs, bacon, Nuremberg sausages, and more. The rolls were pre-baked rather than from a bakery. The location is handy, just a few minutes from the city center, but the road is very busy with trucks, and you can hear them even with the windows shut. Wi-Fi worked reliably. The hotel is quite dated, and some things are worn. My room had new furniture and a very comfortable bed, though only part of the bathroom had been renovated: the sink and shower door were new, but the toilet seat needed replacing. The carpet had seen better days, but it was clean. The gym had a surprisingly good range of equipment, though that showed wear too.
